Steven Garber
Director

 

Steven Garber is the Director of The Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation, and Culture. From his earliest days immersed in the world of higher education, he has been a teacher for many people in many places over the years. He has a particular interest in the habits of heart that sustain individuals and institutions, as well as in the relationship of popular culture to political culture. The author of The Fabric of Faithfulness: Weaving Together Belief and Behavior During the University Years, he was a long-time member of the faculty of the American Studies Program on Capitol Hill. Formerly the Scholar-in-Residence for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, and Fellow and Lilly Faculty Scholar at Calvin College, he serves as a Senior Fellow for The C. S. Lewis Institute and The Fellows Initiative. His most recent writing includes chapters in the book, Get Up Off Your Knees: Preaching the U2 Catalogue. A native of the great valleys of Colorado and California, he is married to Meg and is the father of five children. They are members of The Falls Church, a congregation that has been a community of Christ’s people in northern Virginia for nearly 300 years.

 

 

Ray Blunt
Associate Director and Fellow

 

Ray Blunt is the Associate Director and Fellow of The Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation & Culture, and brings a passion for developing “the next generation of servant leaders.” For 35 years he served in leadership and senior executive positions in the Air Force and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. For the last ten years he has focused upon leadership development and succession, and change management initiatives in public service and non-profit organizations. He has served as faculty and consultant for the Council for Excellence in Government, the Air Force Senior Leaders Program, the National Academy of Public Administration, and the Federal Executive Institute as well as for several organizations. He is the author of Developing Leadership: Growing the Next Generation of Public Service Leaders. He is B.J.'s husband of 41 years and the father of two grown children, and grandfather of five aspiring servant leaders.

 


Anne Taylor Cregger
Senior Fellow


Anne Taylor Cregger is Senior Fellow and ex-officio board member at The Washington Institute. She brings over 25 years of experience in leadership training and formal mentoring programs and provides tactical direction to the emerging programs and management processes at TWI. In her current work at a local consulting firm she focuses on efforts of federal and corporate organizations to transform their cultures to become based increasingly on trust, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Anne was the founding Director of the Falls Church Fellows Program, an internship program designed to serve recent college graduates who desire to deepen their alignment with God’s purposes in their work, community, academic and personal lives. She maintains and promotes a keen interest in communication skills and coaching groups and individuals to best grasp how their unique gifts and experiences might further God’s design for His kingdom. Anne lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, George Patterson, and has four grown sons.

 

 

Lane Dolly
Director of Operations

Lane Dolly is an ex-officio board member at The Washington Institute and serves as its Director of Operations. She holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Regent University. Drawing upon years of experience in event planning and execution for private concerns and non-profits, she was most recently Director of the Alpha Ministry at The Falls Church. Ms. Dolly has served in a variety of roles in government and politics at the state and federal levels. A student of Florence Littauer, she speaks and consults about human personality and its role in relationships. Lane lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with her husband, Jim Ellis.
